"As you know, Sandro Kvitashvili is not the Health Minister for already a week. Accordingly, I, as the Prime-Minister, had a certain period to present a new candidate to the President.

I want to present a candidate of Sandro Urushadze who will get down to his business from this day. Sandro Urushadze has been working with the Health Ministry for already six years. He was the Head of the Health Policy Department, and later he was holding the position of the Head of the Social Service Agency for three years. The most painful reforms in this Agency were effected exactly in his hands. The database of vulnerables was created during his tenure there and he managed his job well. Several weeks ago he was appointed to the position of the Deputy Health Minister. And today I want to present and raise him to the level of the Health Minister.

The first assignments of the new Minister relate to regions, finishing construction of new 46 hospitals started in the regional centers. As you know, insurance companies are building the said hospitals and the village constructions should be finished by the end of the next year. The point concerns 15-25-30 and 70 -bed clinics in regional centers.

As you know we'll performing rehabilitation of Digomi clusters through public funds. Here we have significant projects cause 14 hospitals and 14 clinics will be transferred to Digomi Cluster and this process should be buttoned up.

Furthermore, there are certain problems with the database of vulnerables. Sandro knows it better and very soon certain changes will be made there as well," said the Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri when presenting the new Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs.
