Government of Georgia – Government Meetings 2010 Year

Meeting of the Government as of January 12, 2010

Meeting of the Government as of January 12, 2010 On January 12, 2010 was held the field session of the Georgian Government. The agenda included 65 items.

Before the beginning of the session the Prime Minister Nika Gilauri noted that the year 2009 laid foundation of a good tradition - to hold field sessions of the government in different regions.

"This was very useful as we received the detailed information about the problems and issues which were painful for the region.
This is the first government session in 2010 and it is symbolic that we are holding the first session in Shida Kartli. We will continue this tradition in this
year as well and will hold many sessions in regions.

Much was done in the past year and we summarized the past year results together with all ministers and governors. Many infrastructural projects have been implemented, many social problems solved but we have a lot to do.

All governors have many good plans of action. In January-February-March the governors will have the opportunity to present own plans of development of their regions.
This year we allocate 25 million GEL to Shida Kartli. The top priority is still inland roads, outdoor lighting, water supply and roofing of multistory houses. Of course, we are going to continue the plan of rehabilitation of schools. One of top problems for the region is the irrigation of arable land but this problem was almost solved in the past year", - the PM Nika Gilauri stated.
