On April 19-20 of this year, the Administration of the Government of Georgia, with support of the UNDP and the British Government joint project - Supporting Public Administration Reform in Georgia - Phase 2, organized a two-day working discussion with the Public Administration Reform (PAR) Council Working Group.

At the meeting, the PAR Secretariat presented the results of the situation analysis conducted to develop a new PAR Strategy - a draft Problem Tree and a Logical Framework - to the state institutions, local and international organizations. Additionally, the working group members discussed the opinions and recommendations of the civil society organizations regarding the new phase of the reform.

Experts of the European Union (EU) and Support for Improvement in Governance and Management Programme of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD/SIGMA) also participated in the meeting.

The first day of the two-day working discussion focused on two pillars of PAR - Policy Planning and Coordination, and Accountability, while Civil Service & HRM and Public Service Delivery pillars were discussed the next day.

The meeting was conducted in an open discussion format. Draft policy documents were amended by the PAR Secretariat in line with the suggestions of experts and CSOs following the two day workshop. Part of the recommendations presented at the meetings will be considered within the framework of a new Action Plan of the PAR Strategy.
