Meeting of the Government as of October 21, 2011

Meeting of the Government as of October 21, 2011 On October 21, 2011 was held the meeting of the Georgian Government. The agenda included 72 items.

Before the meeting started, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri, talked about a 10-poit strategic development plan of the government of Georgia. We present the Prime Minister's speech:

"I would like to welcome a new member of our government and a very experienced member of our team, Zaza. He has been here for the first time as a member of the government. He has received quite difficult portfolio and quite complex Ministry. Very much is to be done in agriculture. One of the highest priorities of today's government is agriculture; thus, I would like to wish him success in this quite difficult position.

I would like to point out one more issue. This is a 10-poit strategic development plan. Presentation of this plan was held at the beginning of the year. Action plan for 2011-2015 has been defined in details, i.e., what we shall do in which direction. This concerns infrastructure, energy, health, agriculture and education.

(The plan) represents a document of economic-social policy, which needs to be updated in every six months, in order to see what has been done and what is to be done in the nearest future.

The whole government has been working on updating of this 10-point strategic plan for 1-1,5 month. The updated version has already been finished. I would like to ask the Ministers to start presentation of this plan.
I would like to ask the Minister of Health to call on doctors and leading specialists of the health sector within the nearest two weeks to make presentation of the 10-point plan in the field of health together.

Let the Minister of Finance call on businessmen and representatives of private sector. The 10-point plan includes macroeconomic parameters, financial sector, infrastructure sector, that must be of great interest of private sector.

Ramaz, I would like you to do this as well, as roads and water is a very important part of the plan. Let all Ministers make presentation of the 10-point plan to the public, specialists, Members of Parliament during the next 2-3 weeks. Let's try to present updated version of the 10-point plan to the public in every six months.

I am sure that there will be some remarks, new opinions. We shall take all these into consideration in order to know what is to be done during the nearest period of time."
