Meeting of the Government as of February 14, 2012

Meeting of the Government as of February 14, 2012On February 14, 2012 in Zugdidi was held the meeting of the Georgian Government. The agenda included 61 items.

Before the meeting started, the Prime minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri talked about problems caused due to much snow in Georgia. We present the Prime Minister's speech:

"Good day. It has cleared up, although, according to forecasters' information, much snow and precipitations are expected to fall again in 2-3 days. Respectively, our timely works are to be continued in road department as well as in the Ministry of Energy.

Much snow has shown that it would be more effective to have more techniques. Road Department has worked in 24-hour regime and I would like to thank everyone as they managed to do what was almost impossible several times.

The last two weeks has shown that Kobi-Gudauri and Samtskhe-Javakheti roads are most problematic. Respectively, we would like to strengthen technique in these two directions. We have drawn up a plan, what additional technique is to be purchased, in order that there is none of such problems created and respective problems are solved more promptly next summer.
As for electricity I would like to thank everyone in the Ministry of Energy and energetic companies. They have had to work in quite hard conditions during the last two weeks. Several masts were fallen down. These problems have been solved and the masts have been restored in a very short period of time. I would like to thank everyone, who has done their best during this period.

Winter has not finished yet; supposedly, much snow is expected to fall again in 2-3 days. Respectively, the same services will have to work in 24-hour regime again."
