On July 23, 2012 a government meeting has been held under direction of the Prime Minister of Georgia, at the government chancellery of Georgia. On the agenda of the meeting, inter alia, the amendments to the Law on 2012 State Budget of Georgia for the purpose of liquidation of consequences of natural disaster in Kakheti Region have been discussed. The amendments include allocation of additional sums for compensations and other kinds of assistance of persons suffered from the natural disaster from the State budget. The Prime Minister called the Parliament to consider the abovementioned amendment and make decision in the shortest period of time, as a lot of families are waiting for the government assistance in Kakheti Region.
One more issue discussed by the government was a program of study of refugees' needs which was presented by the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia, Dali Khomeriki. The purpose of the abovementioned program is studying specific needs of refugees and effective planning and implementation of programs for special purpose. Dali Khomeriki emphasized the necessity of holding a survey and participation of refugees in this process in order to study needs of refugees.
