Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili made a statement on internal agency changes implemented for the purpose of reforming the ministry of internal affairs and security and crisis council. According to him, there were staff changes that will support reorganization process.

"We have completed internal agency changes. Mr. Giorgi Zedelashvili who was the deputy minister of the internal affairs was appointed as the deputy secretary of security and crisis management council. We have passed the law on security and crisis management council and we have a desire to strengthen this agency as much as possible. As I informed the public yesterday we are starting reforming the ministry of internal affairs, separating security service from the ministry of internal affairs. I think the staff changes made will support this process. Mr. Vakhtang Gomelauri will appointed as the first deputy minister of internal affairs, also Teimuraz Mghebrishvili will be appointed as the deputy minister who was the head of the state security special service. We have returned Anzor Chubinidze as the head of the state security service. One more change is that the deputy minister of corrections Archil Talakvadze will be appointed as the deputy minister of internal affairs. These are the changes we made yesterday," - Irakli Garibashvili stated.
