The skiing season in Gudauri will not depend on the weather any more; the ski track has already been covered with an artificial snow. The artificial snowmaking distribution management center was visited by the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili, who viewed the first phase project works.

The head of the government expressed his hope that the snowmaking system arrangement would extend the ski season up to 5 months that would make the resort more attractive for investors and promote the stable operation of hotels.

"The stability and duration of the season determines the growth of tourists. This project gave a significant momentum to the investors. Number of businessmen is interested in investing. This is a great gift to the fans of winter season and I congratulate the opening of the season to everyone," - Irakli Garibashvili said.
As he predicts, the current season will be very active and the number of tourists will be increased significantly.

According to the agreement between the Gudauri Development Agency and "DEMACLENKO - the future of snow", geological and topographical works have already been carried out in Gudauri and Didveli. The artificial water reservoirs were designed, 1.1 km track was covered with snow in Gudauri and 2 km track was covered in Didveli. The second phase includes the construction of artificial water reservoirs in Gudauri and Didveli, as well as the coverage of 4 km track with snow in Gudauri. The complete system of snow making costs about 23 million GEL.
