The Delegation of Georgia headed by the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili visited the Kingdom of Netherlands on March 22.
The Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili delivered a speech at the Nuclear Security Summit and participated in discussions.
The first persons and heads of governments of 53 states, also heads of four international organizations, were invited to the Third Nuclear Security Summit, which was held on 23-25 March in Hague. Nuclear Security Summit had more than 5 thousand delegates; including U.S. President Barak Obama, Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, Prime Minister of Great Britain David Cameron, and President of France Francois Hollande, also President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy and the President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso.
The Georgian prime minister met US president Barak Obama at the opening of Nuclear Security Summit.
Within the frameworks of the summit the Prime Minister of Georgia held the bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rute, President of France Francois Hollande, the members of the European Parliament, President of "Liberal International" Hans Van Baalen, Vice-Prime Minister of Brazil Michel Temer, Prime Minister of Spain Mariano Rasoy, President of Switzerland Didier Burkhalter, Prime Minister of Denmark Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg. Within the frameworks of the visit the meeting was held with President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy.
The head of Government of Georgia attended the reception and working dinner, held by the King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander as well.
6-person delegation attended the Nuclear Security Summit from Georgia, including the Minister of the Foreign Affairs Maia Panjikidze, Minister of Environment Khatuna Gogaladze and the Head of Government Administration Nino Kobakhidze.
The idea of the Global Forum for Nuclear Safety belongs to the President of U.S. Barak Obama. The first summit was held on 12-13 April, 2010 in Washington, the second one in 2012, in Seoul, in the capital city of South Korea.
