Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili presided over a meeting with the Cabinet to review and discuss the draft budget and pending legislation.

The Cabinet presented an updated on the revised draft budget. Key revisions included: estimation that economic growth will be two percent instead of five percent; expected inflation rate to be three percent; and the emission of Treasury bills to be reduced by GEL 100 million.

Another item on the agenda was the Dadiani Garden and Palace Complex. The government decided that the cultural heritage complex would be deemed of national significance.

The government session provided an opportunity to approve the draft law on the "Amendments of Air Code." This amendment requires that a company have a certificate of air transportation and an office in Georgia.

The Cabinet also approved the technical regulation on the "Potato Cancer Control Rule." This project will call for the implementation of pathogen preventive measures and phyto-sanitary control. Potato production areas will be under state control if signs of disease are discovered on a plant or if at least one viable sporangium of pathogen is found in the soil. Any affected areas will be under quarantine, and will be noted through proper signs.
