Although some irresponsible politicians think that insulting police officers, storming the Parliament, or picketing the Parliament, is part of the freedom of expression, we the state fully realize the importance of the country's democratization, and our response to such steps will be absolutely lawful, prudent, and in line with the responsibility we have to our citizens, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated during today's Cabinet meeting.

According to the Head of Government, the state proves in full that the freedom of expression is protected in Georgia.

"Over the past few days, it has become clear that irresponsible politicians' every action seeks to block the country. And that does not mean blocking individual institutions. It means blocking the state as a whole. Therefore, I urge everyone to be extra cautious and focused in order to continue the effective functioning of state institutions on a usual daily basis, because we it is our duty to take care of each citizen, each teacher, each doctor, each police officer, ordinary citizens. That is the main duty of the state and the Government, something we must fulfill on a daily basis, no matter what happens in terms of political processes, and disregarding someone attempting to block the state through destructive actions," the Prime Minister emphasized.

According to Giorgi Gakharia, political processes must proceed in the media, the Parliament, maybe even in the streets, but it must be done fully in line with the law, and ultimately these processes are completed at polling stations.

"Our Government is responsible to every citizen, and our responsibility is not to allow anyone, despite numerous destructive actions, and attempts to block the state, target our bureaucracy with destructive actions. Our bureaucracy, our public officials, must be absolutely effective, and be even more focused on taking care of the everyday lives of citizens and concerns," Giorgi Gakharia said.
