Prime Minister of Georgia Visits Dry Fruit Production Facility in Qeda Print Version

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia visited Kerki LLC, a dry fruit production facility in Qeda today. The Head of Government of Georgia spoke with the owners and staff of the enterprise.

As noted by the Prime Minister of Georgia, existence of such facilities is vital in the country in terms of local employment opportunities and potential of production.

Kerki produces five types of goods for sale: dry fruit sheets, walnuts in a wine jelly, sliced dry fruit and packaged assortment of nuts Company was incorporated in 2021 with support of state programs channeled through the Rural Development Agency, Ministry of Agriculture of Adjara, Agro Service Centre, European Union (EU), United States Agency of International Development (USAID) and TBC Bank.

Total volume of investments made in the enterprise amounts to 750 000 USD. Company employs over 30 local residents.

Prime Minister of Georgia was accompanied to the enterprise by Tornike Rizhvadze, Chairman of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara; Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia; Irakli Karseladze, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia; Larry Barnabishvili, Department Head for Regional Coverage at the Government Administration of Georgia.
