Prime Minister of Georgia Visits a Bee Colony in Qeda Print Version

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia visited Qeda today and observed production of honey in the bee colony owned by the Gorgadze family.

The Head of Government of Georgia was treated by Temur Gorgadze, owner of the bee colony, who eagerly shared information about the production of honey,

As noted by the Prime Minister of Georgia, development of bee colonies and hives is one of the significant segments of the economy as the country has a great potential towards this end.

The Gorgadze family enterprise benefited from an agro loan and built a bee colony with a co-financing of the state in the amount of 170 000 GEL. Temur Gorgadze nowadays has 650 bee hives and produces 10 tons of honey. Sales are organized within Georgia and Turkey.

Prime Minister of Georgia was accompanied to a family enterprise of the Gorgadzes by Tornike Rizhvadze, Chairman of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara; Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia; Irakli Karseladze, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia; Larry Barnabishvili, Department Head of Regional Coverage at the Government Administration of Georgia.
