Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia visited a local farmer in Dzentsmani Village of Qeda Municipality today to observe the vine nursery.

The Head of Government of Georgia was treated by Merab Surmanidze. Irakli Garibashvili observed the production and wished every success to the farmer.

The Surmanidzes benefited from a state program to build a vineyard of Chkhaveri and Tsolikauri grapes. Merab Surmanidze owns a land plot 750 ha and harvests over 7 tons of grapes annually. He anticipates extending the vineyard to produce over 10 tons a year.

As the Head of Government of Georgia noted, the state runs programs in support of agriculture in the country, which lead to the effective use of agriculture land plots and substitution of imported goods with local production.

Prime Minister of Georgia was accompanied to the family estate of Merab Surmanidze by Tornike Rizhvadze, Chairman of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara; Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia; Irakli Karseladze, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia; Larry Barnabishvili, Department Head for Regional Coverage at the Government Administration of Georgia.
