Municipal Development Fund (MDF) is implementing the largest project in Rustavi. Construction of a Multipurpose Sports Complex has commenced in compliance with international standards.
Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia visited the site within the scope of a regional tour to inspect the progress together with Irakli Karseladze, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia. Project is budgeted at 20 MLN GEL and is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
According to the Head of Government of Georgia, the referred project bears a huge importance for the local residents of Rustavi, as they have long been craving for the construction of a multipurpose sports complex. A two-floor roofed building is designed for 1500 visitor seats and will serve as a venue of such sports tournaments as boxing, basketball, handball and mini football. It will have all the amenities: dressing rooms, conference halls, inventory storage, restrooms and bathrooms. It will also have an open café, parking lot and recreation area. Pedestrian pavements will be made and outdoor lighting will be installed along it. Surrounding will have lawns. Construction is scheduled to complete by the end of the current year.
