Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia visited almond, walnut and plum orchards at 50 ha in Bolnisi within the scope of his regional tour. Initiatives were supported under a state program branded as Plant Your Future with over 247 000 GEL and beneficiaries were Agro Balavari LLC and Agro Balavari Plus LLC.

Companies also benefited from a Concessional Agro Credit, within the scope of which a loan in the volume of 768 500 GEL was allocated. In addition, Agro Balavari Plus acquired agro-industrial hardware within the scope of a state program with a co-financing in the volume of 35% in the value of 22 500 GEL.

According to the Head of Government of Georgia, state programs in support of farming that are implemented by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, lead to the building of perennial orchards with European standards in the country and advancement of agriculture. He also believes that further increased access to state programs is important.

As local farmer Ketevan Isiani noted that orchards would have been associated with huge difficulties if not for state funding and support.

A new, perennial orchard was built at 3000 ha Kvemo Kartli with a funding allocated within the state program branded as Plant Your Future. Co-financing from the Rural Development Agency exceeds 16 MLN GEL. Total volume of loans in the value of  414 MLN GEL were allocated in the Kvemo Kartli region within the scope of a Concessional Agro Credit Project, while the co-financing of the Rural Development Agency – it exceeds 61 MLN GEL.

The Prime Minister of Georgia was accompanied by Levan Davitashvili, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia; Otar Shamugia, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia; Giorgi Dokhturishvili, Governor of Kvemo Kartli.
