Today, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, together with Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze, visited Rustaveli Street in Telavi, a rehabilitation site under the Renewed Regions program. The restoration of more than 10 buildings has been effectively finalized, with the planned rehabilitation of an adjacent pedestrian walk and square gardens to be carried out. The project's overall value is 12 million GEL. In addition, work has been implemented to reinforce the buildings' energy effectiveness component, with doors and windows replaced, and sidewalks, lighting, and recreation areas built.

According to the Prime Minister, the initial phase of the Renewed Regions program is nearing completion in all of Kakheti's 8 municipalities. Cladding and landscaping work are underway at more than 10 buildings on Rustaveli and Hereti Streets, Dedoplistskaro, and cladding and upgrading have started at almost 30 buildings. Street lighting and sidewalks have already been built, and fountain cladding and landscaping works are underway. Under rehabilitation work on Sarajishvili Street in Sighnaghi, cladding of 14 private properties and sidewalk upgrading works have been finalized. Renovation of homes and fences on Chavchavadze Street has started. Rehabilitation and outdoor lighting installation in the castle and defense wall are being designed. In Sagarejo, 22 buildings on Davit Aghmashenebeli Street, also a square garden and a fountain, are under rehabilitation. In Lagodekhi, it is planned to rehabilitate Zakatala Street and so-called Polkov Garden. In near future, urban renovation will be completed on Ilia Chavchavadze Street in Kvareli. After the completion of the first phase of the Renewed regions program, and at the subsequent stage, the buildings and facilities on Chavchavadze Street will be rehabilitated along with the adjacent pedestrian walk and square garden.

The four-year Renewed Regions program encompasses 63 Georgian municipalities, and the estimated value of its first phase alone amounts to 500,000 million GEL.

Presently, tender competitions have been announced under phased 2 of the program Renewed Regions, to implement infrastructural projects in Kvareli, Telavi, Sighnaghi, Dedoplistskaro, and Gurjaani.

On his visit the Head of Government was accompanied by Minister of Education and Science Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Head of the State Security Service Grigol Liluashvili, CEO of the Municipal Development Fund Davit Tabidze, Telavi Municipality Mayor Levan Andriashvili, Head of the Government Administration's Regional Liaison Department Leri Barnabishvili, and Members of Parliament.
