The importance of Austria's support for Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic path and further deepening Georgia-Austria partnership were the key issues discussed during today's phone conversation between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Karl Nehammer, Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria.

Irakli Garibashvili and Karl Nehammer discussed exchanged views and information on the security situation in Eastern Europe and the military action in Ukraine. The Prime Minister emphasized Georgia's continuous humanitarian and political support of its Ukrainian friends on both bilateral and multilateral levels.

The Head of Government briefed the Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria on Georgia's progress toward European and Euro-Atlantic integration and the country's EU membership bid. The Prime Minister underlined that Georgia is set to fill and, in May, return to the EU the self-assessment questionnaire for an EU membership candidate status sent previously by the latter.

Irakli Garibashvili pointed out the importance of support from partners on the path to European integration, expressing hope that the Republic of Austria will continue standing by Georgia on the path to membership.
The Prime Minister thanked the Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria for strong support of Georgia's European integration, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The Chancellor of Austria invited the Prime Minister of Georgia for an official visit to Austria.
