The Government of Georgia is making public the second, sectoral/legislative part of the European Commission's questionnaire provided by the European Commission to the country for qualifying as an official candidate for membership. This decision was made at today's meeting of the Governmental Commission on Georgia's EU Integration, chaired by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, at the Government Administration.

The second part of the questionnaire is quite long, encompassing 33 chapters and almost 2,300 questions related to sectoral issues and sectoral compatibility with EU legislation.

Georgia has already finalized the first part of the questionnaire including political and economic sections, to be submitted to Carl Hartzell, Head of EU Delegation to Georgia, on Monday, May 2.

May 13 has been set by the EU as the deadline for submitting part two of the questionnaire. However, the Georgian Government has resolved to submit the questionnaire to the EU earlier, before the deadline.
