Today, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, accompanied by representatives of executive and local self-government, visited the rehabilitated Kopitnari railroad station.

David Peradze, Director General of the Georgian Railway, briefed the Head of Government on the station's rehabilitation, pointing out that trains moving toward the mainline will make a stop at the rehabilitated Kopitnari station. The stop is designed to serve Kutaisi Airport's passengers, and it now takes about 5 minutes to travel from the renovated railroad station to Kutaisi Airport.

Under the project, the station's interior and exterior alike were rehabilitated. Shuttles will deliver passengers from the railroad to Kutaisi International Airport. The building is adapted for persons with disabilities.

Waiting areas and a parking space were built, and the existing pedestrian bridge was expanded. The bridge now features three elevators offering comfortable movement between the platforms and the station's building to persons with disabilities. The project's value is 1,637,000 GEL.
