Today, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, accompanied by Minister of Education Science Mikheil Chkhenkeli, familiarizes himself with rehabilitation work implemented by Municipal Development Fund at Niko Lortkipanidze Public School LEPL in Tskaltubo.

Mikheil Chkhenkeli briefed the Head of Government on works finalized so far: The building for 240 students now incorporates a gym and a pitch, also a library with a reading room, a resource room, a health office, and technological and natural sciences laboratories. Heating, water, and sewage system have been installed, and the building is fully adapted for children with disabilities. The state budget has spent 3,691,400 GEL to build the school.

As the Head of Government emphasized, the project is especially important in that Tskaltubo, a village of historical significance, has not had a school equipped with relevant learning resources and modern infrastructure up until now. The Prime Minister spoke with the teachers on the ground and acknowledge his visit in the guestbook.

According to the Minister of Education, the Tskaltubo school is a good example of the Prime Minister's initiative to build/rehabilitate 800 schools and equip them in line with modern standards.

Of the 29 persons presently employed by the school, 23 are pedagogues, including 7 lead, 12 head, and 2 visiting teachers. Since 2018, has had 4 silver- and gold-medal students.

Notably, a four-grade school opened at first in the village of Tskaltubo in 1958, followed by a full-fledged two-story facility built at the initiative of the school's principal Xenia Kintsurashvili in 1961. In 2017, however, the condemned building was demolished. In 2017-2021, the school operated in an alternative facility, a private two-story residence.

The Head of Government was accompanied by Head of the Government Administration's Regional Liaison Department Leri Barnabishvili, Tskaltubo Mayor Genady Balanchivadze, and the school's principal Zurab Mamardashvili.
