Today, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili visited a bay laurel plantation financed under the Plant the Future program in the village of Kukhi, Khoni Municipality.

Notably, the B&N company, besides growing bay laurel on 82 hectares, is also planning to start a processing plant.

As Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Otar Shamugia informed the Head of Government, B&N is building a new, 25-hectare perennial orchard with support from the Plant the Future program. Under the Plant the Future program, new perennial orchards have been built across 1,200 hectares in Imereti Region, and state financing exceeds 15.2 million GEL. Among others, bay laurel is grown on 249 hectares, with co-financing from the Rural Development Agency exceeding 2.4 million GEL. According to the Head of Government, the state will continue actively supporting agriculture through various agricultural programs.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by representatives of executive, legislative, and local governments.
