Prime Minister of Georgia Visits Hazelnut Processing Plant in Ivandidi Village of Khoni Print Version

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia accompanied by Otar Shamugia, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia visited a hazelnut processing plant in Ivandidi Village of Khoni today.

Edeling LLC received 1.2 MLN GEL through agro leasing under a concessional agro credit for the construction of a hazelnut processing plant in 2019. As Shota Saghrishvili, CEO of the company briefed the Prime Minister of Georgia, about 40 people are currently employed at the enterprise and output is sold on the domestic market and exported overseas. He also noted that the enterprise would have encountered great difficulties and would have wounded-up the business 4-5 years ago if not for the support demonstrated by the state through the referred concessional program.

As noted by the Head of Government of Georgia, active work will be continued further to promote the sectoral development of agriculture and increased facilitation of farming.

Prime Minister of Georgia was accompanied to the enterprise by Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia; Grigol Liluashvili, Head of State Security Service of Georgia; Larry Barnabishvili, Department Head of Regional Coverage at the Government Administration and Vladimer Jurkhadze, Mayor of Khoni.
