Irakli Beraia has been appointed as Head of the Georgian Intelligence Service. The relevant executive order has been issued by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

Irakli Beraia previously served as Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee of the Parliament of Georgia. At different times, he held the positions of Director of the Interior Ministry's Reforms and Development Department and Director of the Information-Analytical Department of the State Security Service.
