The Government's meeting was held today at the Government Administration under the chairmanship of Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia.

The Members of Government discussed three topics, including one on the draft decree of the Government of Georgia on approving the targeted state program for providing housing to large homeless families living in dire living conditions. Under the program, the state will provide new living spaces for about 1,000 families living in dire conditions. The program's total budget is 50,000,000 GEL.

The program is designed to assist large socially vulnerable, homeless families and create decent living conditions for them.

A family with three or more children, with all of the household's members registered in the unified database for socially vulnerable families of the Social Service Agency, may qualify as program's beneficiary.

Families with none of their members registered in the unified e-database for refugees or economic migrants of the Internally Displaced Persons, Ecomigrants and Livelihood Agency qualify to enjoy the program, and so do those homeless families whose members have not received living spaces or relevant monetary compensations from the state to purchase living spaces.

The matter of providing housing to families will be decided by the relevant commission after assessing against various criteria.

The program will span until the end of 2025. Families may be provided with housing in any administrative-territorial unit of Georgia.
